Burien Transit Center was submitted for the 2009 AIA Seattle Honor Awards under the "Realized" category. The AIA website describes the Improv/Improve awards in the following way:IMPROV: Design for change requires us to quickly react to new constraints with creative and delightful solutions –
improv! We roll up our sleeves and work together often breaking new ground seeking smart, responsible design solutions. IMPROVE: Improve is the mindset for transforming ourselves and bettering our surroundings, above and beyond the scope of each project.
